How to structure service packages with AI
Turn a broad service into understandable packages with scope, exclusions, and delivery boundaries.
Agency Script Editorial · Updated
The problem to solve
Package names alone do not help a buyer choose. The buyer needs to understand the outcome, what is included, and where the responsibility changes between them and the provider.
Differentiate by the work being done
Organize packages around different customer needs rather than adding arbitrary quantities to a basic tier. A diagnostic engagement and an implementation engagement have different responsibilities. Make those responsibilities visible. Describe what the buyer receives, what the provider needs from them, and what counts as completion.
Do the delivery math before quoting
AI can help structure options, but it cannot know your costs or capacity unless you provide them. Keep proposed prices out of customer-facing copy until the business has checked margins and effort. List likely scope changes and how they would be handled. Clear boundaries make the offer easier to evaluate and easier to deliver consistently.

Three stages of a fictional operations service
Fictional package structure. No prices or delivery guarantees have been invented.
Illustrative worked example created for this guide. Fictional business and inputs; not a customer result or a verified product execution.
| Package purpose | Included outcome | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Diagnose | A documented review and prioritized improvement plan. | No implementation included. |
| Implement | One approved workflow built and reviewed. | Additional workflows scoped separately. |
| Maintain | Scheduled reviews of the implemented workflow. | New integrations require a separate decision. |
What to verify before using the result
- Pricing needs the business’s real costs and decisions.
- A draft package is not a contract or approved commercial commitment.
